Jiangsu has been a tourist paradise since ancient times. Nanjing, Suzhou, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Changshu, Xuzhou and Huaian are famous historical and cultural cities. Twenty cities in the province have been named “Major Tourist Cities of China”, including Nanjing, the capital of six dynasties, Suzhou, Paradise on Earth.

There are 3 major historical sites in Jiangsu Yangtze River Area, Taihu Lake Area and the Area Xuhuai (Xuzhou and Huaian). There are 20 scenic spots, 23 forest parks, 6 for tourism and recreation resorts and 461 historical sites under state protection and provincial levels.
